UNIVERSITY OF APPLIED SCIENCES HRVATSKO ZAGORJE KRAPINA PARTICIPATED IN THE WORK OF THE INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC MEETING UNITED NATIONS WORKSHOP ON THE INTERNATIONAL SPACE WEATHER INITIATIVE: THE WAY FORWARD

The international scientific conference United Nations Workshop on the International Space Weather Initiative: The Way Forward was held in hybrid mode, in Vienna, Austria in the period June 26-30, 2023. The meeting was organized by the Office of Outer Space Affairs of the United Nations (UN) in Vienna, Austria, gathering 67 participants from 40 countries from all continents.

The University of Applied Sciences Hrvatsko Zagorje Krapina (VHZK) represented the Republic of Croatia, as the only participant from our country. With active participation in numerous sessions, employees and external collaborators of VHZK presented the results of their research at a prestigious international scientific meeting.

Group of authors: titular Professor Dr Renato Filjar, employee of VHZK and Head of the Laboratory for Spatial Intelligence, Ivan Heđi, Sr Lecturer, from the Virovitica University of Applied Sciences and external associate of VHZK and its Laboratory for Spatial Intelligence, and Nenad Sikirica, Sr Lecturer, dean VHZK published a scientific paper entitled An open-access massive data set for research on geomagnetic field effects on GPS/GNSS ionospheric delay. The scientific work was peer-reviewed in the international peer-review process. Mr. Nenad Sikirica, Dean of VHZK, stresses out that with this participation, VHZK proves the continuity of successful cooperation with the UN OOSA during which VHZK presents valuable research results achieved by its employees and external associates, thereby achieving high international recognition and opening new opportunities for international scientific, professional, business and teaching cooperation with reputable academic institutions from all over the world.
