KRAPINA UNIVERSITY OF APPLIED SCIENCES PARTICIPATION TO 5TH GNSS RAW MEASUREMENTS TASK FORCE MEETING IN PRAGUE
In 2017, the Google Inc. corporation announced its new product: Location API, which allows service developers and researchers to access the raw (i. e. uncorrected) GNSS pseudorange measurements. The move opens a huge opportunity to take advantage of direct access to raw GNSS pseudorange measurements, for scientists, service developers and operators, and the groing number of enthusiasts. The European Union Agency for the Space Programme (EUSPA, former GSA) has recognised the opportunity and arrange for a meeting of interested parties with Dr Frank van Diggelen, then head of Google’s Location, now Google Distinguished Engineer, President of the Institute of Navigation, and Special Government Employee with the US National PNT Advisory Board, and his team. Born was the GSA/EUSPA GNSS Raw Measurement Task Force, whose members and the other interested parties meet every May to present new innovations and accomplishments in exploitation of Location API.
The 5th meeting of the GNSS Raw Measurement Task Force took place on 17th May, 2022, gathering more than 100 remote participants from all over the world. Krapina University of Applied Sciences (KUAS) presented the latest research results accomplished through research activities in Laboratory for Spatial Intelligence, and under collaboration with external partners Assoc Prof Teodor Iliev (University of Ruse, Ruse, Bulgaria), Dr Oliver Jukić (Consultem d. o. o., Slatina, Croatia), and Mr Ivan Heđi, Sennior Lecturer (Virovitica University of Applied Sciences, Virovitica, Croatia).
Mr Nenad Sikirica, Senior Lecturer, dean of Krapina University of Applied Sciences welcomed another participation of Krapina University of Applied Sciences, and its contribution to the advancement of the Task Force. Dean Sikirica recalled the role of Krapina University of Applied Sciences in establishing the GNSS Raw Measurement Task Force as a founder, in 2017, and the University’s continuous contribution to the Task Force’s success.
